New and puzzled

75g with co2 running for about six months. Lately I have noticed the tops of my plants thrive while the sword and other low growers are algae covered. Also the nodes of the stem plants grow a thin string like stem that them entangles the bottoms of the plant. Is this a light or fertalizer issue or something else?

I wonder if the tank is so tall that the lower parts are not quite bright enough to keep the plant leaves going, so the algae is growing there.

The 'string' might be roots. Some plants will grow a lot of roots that way, some grow few or none. I take advantage of that when I trim, burying these roots to get the new plant anchored a bit better.

Are you feeding the root feeders any root tabs?

No root tabs... Just liquid fertalizer.
