1000 liter non CO2 and EI possible?

Hi all.

I have a 10ft tank that is currently running full of Crypts, Java Fern and Anubius.

Im using moderate light, EI and pressurised CO2 with great results.

But......i would like to turn off the CO2 as quite alot gets used in a tank this size. one 9kg bottle per month.

Can i continue using the EI method to fertilse without CO2?

Anything is possible. The crypts would be ok with root tabs, java fern and anubius would work with dosing. I would think EI dosing without CO2 would depend on your lighting and I think algae would become a problem. I'm by no means an expert as I'm just getting into CO2 and EI dosing. Its just my understanding of the needed balance between light, ferts, and CO2.

I'd reduce the EI to about 1/10th, add plenty of algae eaters etc.
You may need to reduce the light a bit also. Lower light, longer hours.
