Would this work? DSM in a bucket outside

I recently treated a new piece of wood and I am ready to introduce to my tank but I was considering doing dry start with some flame moss because I heard it helps it attach without the use of string or glue. My issue is I don't have another tank or anything to try and do DSM in only a 5 gallon water change bucket. I would imagine ill be fine doing it in a bucket but my next question is can I do this outside or is that too much light and heat?

I think worst comes to worse it is worth the try but wanted a little advise before I decided to go ahead with it.
