Cool Poor success w/Jungle Val

Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or recognizes something in my tank that it doesn't like. I've had it for months now, and it just never really became of anything after its initial melting. Leafs are like 3-4in at best and not in the greatest shape. Would really like to see these take off.

Running dirted tank w/3.9wpg @ 8 hours a day. Dosing Excel, Iron, and pottasium regularly.

Having good sucess with other plants:

Dwarf Sag, ludwigia broadleaf, water wisteria, swords, java moss/fern, anubius nana, and wendtii green

*Actually my wisteria new growth is always beautiful, crisp, and green, but after time it gets a less desirable appearance. Little bit of browning and sagging appearance, if anyone wants to comment on that as well??

Val doesn't like Excel. Try 1/2 dose.

i also have heard this before. Though I dose excel regularly and my Vals look great. Maybe someone else can chime in here as I have wondered if they don't like direct dosing as in dosing into your spray bar which sends the excel onto your vals as opposed to dosing on the other side of the tank.

My experience is that they can build up tolerance to excel, but you need to start them slow and let them establish, which is why I suggest 1/2 dose for a while. Once they hit the top of the tank then start increasing the dose.

I think thats pretty normal. Wisteria can get really thick up top, shading out all the older growth.
