indeed
im blessed with two. my 4 year old daughter is much the same, she is more reserved and quiet and would rather solve quite problems like puzzles.
they both are tested as gifted. at their age level the highest score possible was 90, they both scored 80. my son's iq was 105 verbal, 143 written, with a combined score of 123. i remember when it was just a simple test but in tennessee apparently at 6 there are two tests now????
GOSH I AM THE PROUDEST FATHER EVER!!!!

"WELL YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!" (Flip table)

I get that at least 5 times a week at work

Are they big enough to eat yet?
Should I bring in my grill?
Are they ready?
Can I eat them? (answer - you can eat the gravel if you try hard enough)

My CRS died.
I've been asked if I make soup of my RCS before. Who eats shrimp in soup?

Bay shrimp in top ramen with a little splash of lime FTW. The ONLY way to eat top ramen IMO.

I've wondered if the shrimp we keep are edible but I imagine they are too small to be worth it. You'd have to eat them by the hundreds and at that point there are better things to consume.

You fry them and eat them with the shell and all. It's how they do it with similar sized shrimp in asia. Might even be the same shrimp....

I was thinking the exact same thing...unfortunately, I don't know what they are called in English.

well we Cantonese make Shrimp Paste out of it and it is Freaking tasty!
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...rimp_paste.jpg
To make it you put ton of little shrimps in a barrel, step on it until it all become a mesh (kind of like making red wine...)
Then Sun dry and age it until the smell and taste is good enough to bottle...

Bet how many times they'll ask

Lol yeah I was asked 4 times if they could be eaten.... I found that most people who demonstrated interest only demonstrated it in a minimal amount and I only encountered a few people who could potentially match my enthusiasm for the hobby. I did meet a 5 year old girl who asked questions that made her seem more intelligent compared to questions that parents were asking me. It's just a hit and a miss with some people and then they have to decide whether or not to dig deeper into the hobby to become as enthusiastic as we all are.

Re: Bet how many times they'll ask

They mass produce dry RCS and package them. Sakura line to be more exact. They breed them in the millions in farms like these. Most packages will say dried and sauteed pink shrimp. Very tasty! Put on rice, ramen, noodles, or almost any dish as a topping. Used to eat this stuff with white rice and soy sauce all the time.
