Hello, this is Mark with http://jonahsaquarium.com/ Just FYI, there are some persistent misconceptions about "native fishes". North American natives occur from Canada to south Florida, South Texas and Southern California, not to mention southern Mexico. And even in states with cold winters, the fishes live in quite warm water in the summer, especially since deforestation has dramatically increased water temps in streams. So almost all of the native species, by percentage, can live very happily in room temps and warmer, while also having the ability to live outdoors, even in cold winters. Of course, over generalizations will always get you in trouble, so learn about each species individually. Also, by percentage of species, most of the natives have a full grown adult size of less than 10 inches, and the majority of those are less than 6 inches when full grown. However, the best known species are the larger game fishes, thus the source of the misconception. We stock almost entirely smaller species. In any case, we are always happy to answer questions and give guidance about what might work for your particular tank, pond or project: firstname.lastname@example.org Thanks for listening!
