I went fishing a couple weeks ago off the jetty in westport,wa & managed to finally get some drift wood. I know a lot of people don't like Tannins, But how would one go about increasing tannins or slight brown water?

You can get the backwater effect stuff from lfs. Indian almond leaves work as well and I'm sure you could probably find local leaves (maybe not in this season) and dry them out

Exactly what Chew recommended, IALeaves and driftwood do increase tannis. However the more you boil the driftwood the less tannis it will release into your tank.

I've also heard of people using alder cones.

And then you could always put a bag of peat in the filter.
