Egg or Bacteria?

I finished cleaning my tank yesterday, (loads of fish food needed to be removed) and everything seemed fine. However today I noticed this thing next to one of my plants. Im not sure if this is more rotten fish food or some sort of egg. I only even suggest an egg because it hasn't really floated away and is sort of just stuck in the position it is in. Also none of the fish seem to be very interested in it but my Corys have been a bit more energetic whenever something taps the tank.
