I have cycled 30g tank ( 30in by 12in by 18in (height) ). No plants yet.
4 catfishes. It has Eclipse cover with Bio-Weel and two 24 inch fluorescent
lamp 18watt each. Going to add Flourite and low light plants ( Anubias,
Crinum... ).
My questions :
1. Can I keep the Bio-Weel ?
2. As I see, 1watt per gallon is not enough ( even for Anubias ). Is there another lamps, that will fit this Eclipse cover ?
3. Change the cover ?
Thank you.

yes you can keep the bio wheel, some people think it diffuses too much co2 but unless you are injecting co2 it wont make a differnce and even then i personally havent seen a difference. yes you will need more than 1wpg if you want too plant your tank. you can get a new hood or refit your hood with compact flourecents.

You might want to get a 65 watt PC retro-fit kit for your Eclipse hood.

Upgrading the lighting in that tank would certainly expand the amount and types of plants you can keep in your aquarium but do not write off a properly maintained low light tank, heres a link to the post of my 25 running an eclipse 2 (only 30 watts of light)

Plants: Giant Hygrophila, red Crypts(wendtii), anubias barteri, amazon sword, java fern, vals

with a low light tank its usually a matter of good algea control and heavy root feeders.
