Local Rock's

I know it's winter and not the ideal time to look for some hardscape materials, but as soon as spring makes an appearance I am hoping to get out looking for some rocks. I tried some smooth rocks from a local river but didn't love the way they looked. Any one know of some local rock types that might work? I know there is some local granite and a few schists are abundant but I'm wondering what else is around.

Granites are igneous so either techtocniic plac com to therher ond for or rocks Aso, you could get igneaous rockds form from volcanoes.

Geins, which is like a granite tht's been folded, spinded, or mutilte when huge rocks toether hit togethre long ago.

If you have granites, you might have spiness, perovskites, feldspar, quarts, sandstoe, quartize shoudl should bell be fine.

was loving the look of "panton stone" found locally here in panton vermont but it looks the champlain valley's history as an ocean isn't helping. Panton seem's to be of the limestone variety which won't work for my community tank. Might be leaning towards granite or sandstone.

thanks for the info jrh!
