yeah, I can't even imagine.. the BF really wants to have a kid.. I can barely getting myself through school and work.. I can't imagine adding a kid to the mix.. Oh and let's remember the dogs.. When my dog needed that amputation in March, I had to put if off for a bit so I could save up the money.. That's not exactly an option with a kid.

Children aside I have to say, I really like TFSRI. Everyone is really nice (and I'm not convinced it's just because I'm a girl.)

I think the group could improve their ability to share information with the public and it's new or less active members. Right now, the website doesn't have a flyer for the Show & Auction, but there are a bunch at Aqualife. They have a shiny new website, but the info on it is lacking. What fish are worth what BAP points? How old do fish need to be to earn BAP points? How many need to be presented? What about HAP points?

There was a forum on the old site, but no such luck on the new site.. I imagine there's an email group, but that could even just be an informal email using reply all.

There's a lot that I feel I can learn from these guys, at the same time, I can't help but feel like there are things I can help them do better too.

As i was reading this i was thinking that with all your insight and profession and knowledge then maybe this is right up your alley. Maybe offer up some advice and see how accepting them are of it. but if it could open up and make things easier for all parties involved then that seems like a win/win to me.

From experience of attending this auction for the past 10 years or so -

Most of the available fish/plants to be auctioned off show up on Sunday, so you never know what you will find. I've never found it to be a waste of my time, as the people are great, and there is always something I can use.

It starts at noon, and goes until 5 or beyond, depending on how many lots are there.

The plants tend to be good, and often are generous sized.

Olive - as a fellow member I agree with your questions and concerns about information, but asking the right people at the meetings will get it for you.

Cheers, and hope to see you at the Auction

Glad to hear you'll make it, even if just for the later parts.
