Best Pittsburgh LFS?

I will be flying there saturday, wondering if there are any places that have HC. I really need some and my one and only lfs doesnt have it. Also are there any places that stock ADA, GLA, Do! Aqua, or Mr. Aqua tanks anywhere? Preferably near the airport? Thanks.

sorry but no one really stocks any of those around here. as far as stores you could try wet pets in mcmurray, elmers aquariums in monroeville, oddball aquatics in brentwood depending on where you are staying. i just picked up hc at wet pets couple days ago and they had more then.

Unfortunately none of those places are in PGH proper but if you're staying near the Airport out past Moon twnshp maybe you can get to those places a little easier.

There used to be a place on Murray Ave in Squirrel Hill that I bought all my fish from-- Alan's I think it was called. If you're headed over there you should go up the street to my old neighborhood bar, the Squirrel Cage. Have a pitcher [or three] of Yeungling for me!

I'm a huge fan of Oddball pets, but i'm not sure they'll have what you want.

Heh, a Pittsburgh thread? No way

I love Elmer's Aquarium, it's an amazing store but definitely not for plants, lol... it's got 200+ aquariums and six of them have plants in them.

I've never even seen a carpet plant other than eleocharis acicularis (dhg) there. I got my hc at Petco, growing on a lava rock. 90% melted but I emmersed the remaining few and got a very tiny amount now.

Pittsburgh's got no ADA GLA Do!aqua etc. It's a sad state of affairs =(

But we're in the Superbowl so it's not too sad (amirite??)

Don't forget, 1/2 the tap water is toxic [nearly :P]. But pierogies galore!

Heh, our tap water? It's really more for asthetics...

There are many pierogies here. It's one of our attractions.
