Neither? Why do you need to fertilize the substrate? Why would you want to "spot" fertilize a plant? You know what I fertilize both my tanks with? A 1/8 teaspoon. That's all, no fancy tabs, or pipettes, etc. You really don't need much crap to have perfectly running tanks.

Some of my plants aren't growing (either that or they're growing very slowly), and I think it's because of the lack of nutrients. I'm getting dry ferts soon, will these help it grow
