set up saltwater

I know this may sound stupid but I need to know this I have a tan line heater and a inline UV sterilizer but I'm going to install on my canister pump should I cut this section of the hose out for that I get the right flow for my tank and is that enough to run a tank for just salt water fish do I need anything else besides the chemicals in salt and sand

You need forms of mechanical and biological filtration along with flow. Live rock would serve as your biological filtration, a protein skimmer and water changes as your mechanical filtration, and powerheads for flow and surface agitation.

Not sure where you are in Ohio but there are several really great clubs where you could get some info and cheap equipment/livestock.
