Stopped by Petland Discount in Woodside today. They have:
- more gourami species than I have ever seen. Seriously. They have them all, and they looked good. If you're searching for gouramis, go and have a look.
- some corys I have never seen before - C. Rabauti I think ?
- A few sad-looking, but not so expensive (35$) discus.
- A nice selection of South American cichlids: Jack Dempseys, very nice-looking Firemouths, Pike cichlids, beautiful Red Devils, Nicaraguenses, ...
- A giant, nice-looking catfish.

Yup. It's not very pretty, but it should work. He just slices a corner, snaps it, and sands it.

Is it $20 each or a pair? Usually they NEVER have any females.

The grass isn't always greener in the other tank.

They've had them a few years ago. They are peat spawners and it doesnt pay to have them unless you are going to breed. The eggs have to be dried out for a couple of months before they hatch. Pacific also had some aphyosemions in the past but only males.

Wow, that's fascinating. I don't know how to sex them so I can't say if they're all one gender. Breeding them does sound prohibitively complex though.
