It was painful, for the fish I mean.
This is one of the reasons why I avoid Petco for livestock. I've gotten lucky with healthy stock from them from time to time but they often leave dead fish in their tanks for god knows how long.

I was in petland by pace university downtown. They had dwarf lily, MTS 10 for $1, and some flagfish. The Lung Fish was a surprise too.

Petland seems to stock the weirdest fish sometimes.

It usually depends on the manager of the store and what people bring in. The one in Jamaica tends to stock larger oddball fish from time to time.

They are alright for larger fish and cichlids. Blue Gold Aquarium a few blocks away is also worth visiting if you're into arowanas and other large fish.

Petco had a pipefish? You know what kind, how many and how much? Haven't been by in a few months.

The grass isn't always greener in the other tank.

The manager brings in the snails from his personal tank. He gave me some red rams horn snails and sunset hygro before. The lungfish is his also.

The Petland on Nassau usually has some interesting fish. There's also a tank of plants, but I dont think they are doing too great.

@Qckwzrd, do you know if there's gonna be soon hygro soon?

Also for those who are interested, Petsmart has dragon scale plakat bettas for sale. Some of them are halfmoons. What's also nice is that they are a lot cheaper ($7 with your Petsmart card) than those found at Petco.

Sorry, but I'm not sure what kind of hygro. I didn't look that closely since I was there to pick up a dozen espei. I just took a quick look at the other tanks. It may have been a narrow leaf hygro species.

I was there just yesterday. The hygrophila species in question is hygrophila polysperma and hygrophila polysperma sunset. Besides the hygrophilas, there was pogostemon stellatus. But nothing interesting beyond that.

I went to the ones in Huntington and Green Acres. Im sure the ones in Manhattan and Brooklyn should have them in stock. Just give them a call first. They also have halfmoons for $5 with your card, much cheaper than Petco.
