So how was it? I was hoping I would have the time to make it there but just couldnt yesterday. I've never been to something like this; so can anyone tell me a little about it? About how many people were there and what was discussed/done/seen?
Well there is always next month. Its very cool, friendly place to check fish out. Ill be honest, if you aren't a social person and don't know anyone, it can feel pretty awkward because everybody there seems to know each other and chitchat. Thankfull (
) theres always tpters to meet up with if you don't know anyone. Its one big room, you go in and can find a seat- due to the big turn out, there wasnt any room and extra folk stood in the back during the talk and auction. The table has fish and goods up for auction- you can view them before the talk. The other table has membership, money/raffle/etc things. The talk is at 8. Afterwards, you can view the items again quick and then the guy starts auctioning items off. The talk this month was about live foods. Next month is a talk from the most famous fish breeder here.
The selection can be good or bad depending on what you are looking for. Always a lot of angelfish/guppies/african cichlids. There were cories, rainbows, mollies, cichlids, plecos from codonmyrod always, killies, livebearers. Shrimp and oodles of ramshorns that go for over $10 wtf? Oddly, I never see tetras really. Alright selection of plants, basically the usual java fern, swords, floaters, moss. Not really rarer plants, you see a bunch of tpters offer them up but they don't go for much money since people aren't sure of their value! The goods that night were a 40b reptile tank (I think it went for 45??? correct me if Im wrong), tds meter, betta boxes, filter stuff, led lights.
I think that covers everything...
