WNY Power Outage Whose tank survived?

Just wondering if everyones tank made it through the power outage cause by the storm. I was without power for 2 days and everything seems to be going well. I was able to keep my house at 67 because of my gas fireplace. I feel I was lucky because there are still 100,000 people without power at this point. I called Jake at The Fish Place and asked how they were doing and he told me that they had a generator and were able to save most of the fish. He said he also had a lot of cases of ICH going on. He also said that Markheim Pets on Sheridan has lost all of their fish.

We lucked out up here with only 6-8" of snow. It still caused a big mess with downed limbs but nothing like Cheektowaga, Amherst and Tonawanda. The power flickered a couple times on Friday and that was it.

I have a generator that was set up to power key circuites in my house - heat, refrigerator, some lights. I modified it to run the tank power.
Kinda cool seeing the glow of the tank in that corner of the house with no other lights.

Cozy inside - outside looks like a hurricane came through!

I was wondering about TFP - thanks for the info

We lost power for about 36 hours. The tank dropped about 8 degrees but luckily we only had one casualty. Plants seem to have fared well.

36g bowfront tank: Finnex Ray2 7000K dual LED, eco-complete substrate, XP2 filter
Plants: cryptocoryne, wendtii red, & hygrophilia

We got really worried once WNY started losing power and they said we were supposed to get similar weather/ freezing rain.
We have a kerosene heater for emergencies - so i ran out and bought a big canister full of it.

Everyone says we'll have a record winter this year. I hate NY weather. LOL

lost all my fish, was without power for about 100 hrs... I had to seek refuge at my parent's and wasn't able to bring the fish....

the temperature in my tanks when I got back (after 1 hrs of electricity, so heater + room heat) was 50 degrees....

yeah when I went to Markheim's they didn't seem to hae much stock....condolences to all those that lost fish

Sorry to hear that Enoch. I don't have much in fish but give me a couple weeks and will have a lot of plants you can have.
