Stems near heater keep melting - help
As the title states - in the back corner of my 6g tank where my heater is (25W Archeae Ultra Slim), I am having trouble keeping stems happy. I have tried a couple of types - most recently Limnophila palustris, and before that Rotala sp. Magenta. While not all of the leaves die, the stems get super soft and brown and then break away. I am guessing it is due to the localized warmer water (although there is very good water flow in that corner) - as there is nothing different there in terms of soil/root tabs then in the rest of the tank.
Does this make sense? If so, does anyone have a good recommendation for a plant that would do well in the slightly warmer water (the heater is only set for 74 - but I am guessing the local temps are higher)?
