Not much hope for this x-ray

One of my x-ray tetras has gone suddenly sick. It's very strange, he can't stay upright and keeps spinning around. His fins look intact but his tail looks slightly bent to one side, and he can't move it, almost as if it was paralyzed. I'm afraid he's a goner. I've had him for almost 2 years so maybe it's just old age.

He's now in a bucket with some StressGuard. Maybe he'll go in peace.

Oh dear. Sounds a little neurological in nature. I hope he doesn't suffer.

He's really hanging on - been like this for 3 days now.

He's a fighter no doubt about that. Just let him finish out his days in peace. Better in solitude than picked apart like in a zombie swarm. Have you checked the nitrate/nitrides in the tank?

I hate it when that happens, I never know what to do because I don't euthanize

Sorry to hear about your fish.

I think my little endler is gone as well! I had just removed the guppie that had been terrorizing him the past 4 months, but in the process I may have terrorized the endler even more. He was still for about a day, with little swimming...and now I have no idea where he is. He had a gorgeous stripe...I hope at least he makes good food for the shrimp in the tank. I decided to finally remove the guppie when I saw it with a fairly large RCS in its mouth!

hah - I was given them by a friend who had a bunch of fry. He had no clue he had any guppies in stock and thought he had given me only endlers. When they grew up, it was apparent the larger fish was a guppie.
