I hope you are getting paid enough...looks like a chore to clean that tank up. Strip it and start fresh!

Its a 55g.
Got real plants and driftwood in it which is unexpected but nice. I see um, crypts, anubias, java, that big sword, and a banana lily- all healthy but filled with algae.

As you can see from the tests, desperately needs a WC- no nitrites though? So how would you go about this? The filters not working.

Idea atm is: I picked up a gravel-vac...I'm excited to try it out because that gravel is NASTY- think brown mulm, poop EVERYWHERE. I'll run out of water before I suck it all up. Maybe move all the fish into buckets but they dont have a big bucket.
Take out all the plants? Yes or no. I bet theyre heavily rooted, specially the crypts/sword. I def wanna take the wood out to scrub.
Giant water change. 80-90%...too much on them? Should I just do 50? I dont want to kill them either. The tank smells rank...I poked my head in and eew!!
Baking soda for pH adjustment?
Got some salt for...general fish relief.
And a big bottle of bacteria that I plan on using the entire thing. And some new filter pads/zeocarb. Ive only got 2 tiny buckets(9L) and a small siphon at my disposal.

Can you see her eggs?

If not, look at my Preggers Post in Invertebrates!

Also, I have cute pics of my betta in the Fish section under Betta Meets Snaily.

Azolla flourishes on my windowsill with about 1.5 hours of direct and 4 hours of indirect sun. Was yours near the window? Once it gets settled in, it forms a dense cover over the surface like a net. I use it in my outdoor grow out containers to prevent Mosquitos from laying eggs. Loosklike the azalea here is different than in Australia. Leaf pattern looks different and more sparse.
