I use a cheap tetra brand check valve. I only use one... How many depends on how your system is set up. I am using the all in one milwaukee with bubble counter... Nothing really to protect IMO other then water backfeeding into the bubble counter if the system is off during either cleaning or a power outage as I run my C02 24/7....
However to answer your question they are both good valves from what I have heard....
