A quick peek at the plant profiles and Google search both say V. americana is from Asia.
Doing Google image searches on V. americana and S. subulata don't show any distinguishing features (to my eye anyway). It's obvious now though, that it is in fact NOT C. helferi which is what it was sold to me as.
Maybe I will have to wait to see how (if haha) they grow?
