Well you can just use the measurements right off the website that you are buying the tank from, or call (depending where you got it from Jeff or George/Steve). You really don't have to wait for the tank to arrive, actually you will be saving time by having the stand built while the tank is being shipped to you.
The stand can be built with or without an overlap of 1/16 or so. I don’t think it will be the end of the world for you. However I do recommend using neoprene between the tank and the stand for several reasons, one of which is that it helps keep the tank level and another reason is for the dampening of vibration that can come from filters, pumps and such. Again, both Jeff and George sells it.
