There's just too much TDS in that water to get much, if any eggs to hatch.

But there's always the claim:

Somehow they can never seem to explain it though.......

I know a guy that gets more than 70 percent hatch rate in our tap water. it is ph of 8.2 and his discus are extremely hardy
