Good point.

With the exception of blue rams and some tetras. Why is it some of these would ever be inappropriate?
That statement was in reference to the initial stocking list, which made no mention of rams or tetras.

Edit: Here's a list of what will work in high temperatures. I've tried plenty of these and most failed to live for a few weeks.

*-Needs caution as they may or may not nip.

Black Neon Tetra(Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi)
Cardinal Tetra(Cheirodon axelrodi)
Columbian Tetra (Hyphessobrycon columbianus)
Diamond Tetra(Moenkhausia pittieri)
Emperor Tetra(Nematobrycon palmeri)
Glass Bloodfin(Prionobrama filigera)
Green Fire Tetra (Aphyocharax rathbuni)
Head-and-Tail-Light(Hemigrammus ocellifer)
Jewel Tetra(Hyphessobrycon callistus)
Kerri Tetra(Inpaichthys kerri)
Lemon Tetra(Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis)
Penguin tetra(Thayeria boehlkei)
*Red-eye Tetra(Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae)
Robert's Tetra(Hyphessobrycon robertsi)
Rosy Tetra(Hyphessobrycon bentosi)
Rummy-Nose Tetra(Hemigrammus bleheri)
Rummy-Nose Tetra(Hemigrammus rhodostomus)
Rummy-Nose Tetra(Petitella georgiae)
*Silver-tipped Tetra(Hasemania nana)
X-ray Tetra(Pristella maxillaris)

All three are appropriate. I see no reason to the contrary why blue rams and discus can't mix well with plants unless the plants you get lack tolerance for higher temperatures.

Discus need the temperature around 84-86 in order to avoid several health issues. The lower the temperature, the more vulnerable they become. Blue rams are absolutely fine in temps exceeding 83.

I agree. I would personally would stick with the "traditional" tetras with discus, however- cardinals and rummies. Pengiun tetras also can get aggressive IME, and I currently own my first school of bloodfins, which picked on my Rummies to death before I realized what was happening.

www.FishBase.org is a good site to start basic research on fish species, and very reliable.
