Can't speak for anyone else but I'm not aggravated at all!

Sorry if I came across that way?
Do you already have the tank?
If not, and your heart's set on discus, why not get a 75gal or a 90gal instead? Both of these tanks are the same length (48") but the 75gal is deeper (18" instead of only 12") and the 90gal is also taller (24") This would be appropriate for a small school of discus. I wouldn't recommend keeping more than a mated pair of discus in a 55gal b/c they need more swimming room. Definitely a 90gal if you want to also keep rams. Rams are OK with higher temps, and 82 is the lowest recommended temp for keeping discus. 85F would be better.
You'll definitely have to watch your plant selection as there aren't that many species that will do well at these warm temps. These things CAN be done, but they aren't necessarily easy.
www.simplydiscus.com would be a great forum to join if you're serious about wanting to keep discus. They are not a low-maintenance fish, however, and are quite pricey. You'll need to buy adults as well, as juvie discus really should not be raised in a planted tank unless you're able to do at least daily 50% water changes and feed 5x a day.
I'm honestly not trying to discourage you, just make sure you know what you're getting into! LOL
