had to check some store out on vacation

I came out to St. Louis for Christmas Vacation to see my wife's family.
I had a few days to waste so what better then check out local fish/pet stores.

The best for Plants was Aqua World. Great planted tanks, about 95% of all there freshwater tanks were planted. A good selection of different plants, just a bit short on reds. Prices are ok, just a bit high compared to back home or online, but in great shape.

Beldts has the best fish selection. They had some pretty plain tanks, but some good looking fish. They had some great looking Discus, even had a real nice Blue Diamond beeding pair that i though about taking home.

The rest of the LFS's where nothing to write home about.

Beldts is just too expensive. They will order hundreds of marine animals, and maybe half make it because of their tank practices. A true waste of life. Plus of all of the employees, only 1 really knows whats up, the rest are only there for a paycheck. AquaWorld has been in business in the same place forever, and most everyone there knows their stuff. A local family business that deserves support.

Doin' it the old school way..
90 gallon acrylic, trickle filter, Lifegard mechanical
and chemical modules, DIY coil denitrator.
