As usual, I can't give rep to LL because I have too recently. But she's dead on with ottos and salt tolerance. I find they are sensitive to high temps, as well. My theory (guess) is the lowered amounts of O2 in warmer water. I realized early that ottos did much better in my systems on wet/dry. Then even better on "goldfish" systems (unheated). If you give them time, they can acclimate to most healthy aquariums. But salt and hot is a no-no, IME. And it's only my experience.
