I bought a 125 tank for freshwater fish. Wife want some live plants in it.

Right now I have no hood or lights for it. I am going to build my own canopy.

What I need to know is what sort of light configuration I would need for this.

I have read alot about the AH kits and other methods.

Money is a small factor. I may have a budget around $150 or so for lighting.

So give me some thoughts (and links for examples) on ow to configure some lights for the beast of a tank.
