Default Aquamart (formerly Premier Fish & Reef) - New Greatly Expanded Planted Tank Section!!

I just wanted to let everyone in the greater Denver and Colorado area know that Premier Fish & Reef is now Aquamart. We're under new ownership and the inmates are running the asylum. Dave, the former manager, is now the owner and we have a much larger, better plant inventory and planted tank equipment department. Big changes are in store, with much larger selections of everything and lower prices.

Some of you may know me from The Planted Tank forums. My name is Travis Simonson and I'm now the assistant manager and planted tank specialist at Aquamart here in Lakewood. I've been in the planted tank hobby for over four years and am eager to make Aquamart Colorado's best planted tank store.

Since the beginning of the year we have increased our volume of plant holding tanks to over 300 gallons, all of them well lit and CO2 supplemented. We now carry over 50 different species of plants. We've got common, everday varieties like Anubias, Vallisneria, Hygrophila, Java fern, and Cabomba to rare and unusual specias like Tonina sp. 'Belem', Downoi, Eriocaulon, Rotala wallichii, Dwarf Baby Tears (HC), Lilaeopsis, Ammania sp. 'Bonsai', Fissidens fontanus moss, Nymphaea micrantha lotus, and many others. I take great pride in making sure that our plants are the healthiest, best looking plants in Denver. And if we don't have what you're looking for we will make every effort to get it in for you.

In addition to the plant substrates and equipment you're used to, like Eco-Complete Plant Substrate, Onyx Sand, Fluorite (regular, black, red, and powder), and Seachem fertilizers, we now carry an extensively expanded selection of ADA products. We've got the full line of substrates in all sizes and types (even Powder-type Aquasoil and Amazonia II), both Powersand and Powersand Special, and all of the substrate additives like Tourmaline BC, Bacter 100, and Clear Super. We have the entire range of ADA fertilizers including Brighty K, the complete Green Brighty Step series, Special Lights and Special Shade, ECA, Phyton Git, and more. We also have a large inventory of ADA glassware, from diffusers, bubble counters, and drop checkers to ADA Cube Garden aquariums and lights (yes, even the 8000K ADA metal halides and compact fluorescents!). We have the full line of ADA CO2 systems as well, including ADA CO2 refills.

Aquamart also carries Milwaukee CO2 equipment including regulators and CO2 controllers, Tygon CO2 impermeable tubing, and five and ten pound CO2 canisters. Our lighting section has grown to include a wide variety of T-5 and metal halide fixtures and retrofits in all lengths, wattages, and configurations. And we now stock the highly sought-after Giesemann Midday 6000K T-5 bulbs. Our goal is to have everything you could possibly need to set up your planted tank the way you want to do it.

You'll find a great selection of fish and inverts for planted tanks, too. We now have a dedicated freshwater shrimp tank with several species of shrimp, currently including crystal red, cherry red, Amano, pinocchio, black diamond, and flower shrimp. We've also got several varieties of snails like thorny nerites, Japanese trapdoor, Malaysian trumpet snails, and mystery snails.

We stock a large variety of fish for planted tanks as well. Our current stock includes: Corydoras cats (habrosus, pygmaeus, orange venezuelensis, pandas, and more), German blue, Bolivian, and gold rams, several hard-to-find types of Apistos (A. cacatuoides, A. agassizii, A. nijsseni, and more), SAEs, otocinclus (midget, giant, and zebra), bushynose plecos (regular, dwarf, dwarf longfin, and dwarf albino longfin), an extensive collection of rare L- plecos (Gold Nugget, Mango, and Galaxy Cactus to name just a few), whiptail catfish, killifish (albino gardneri, gold, orange and chocolate lyretail australae, and rachovii), celestial pearl danios, longfin leopard danios, roseline barbs, snakeskin barbs, lots of loaches (kubotai, yoyo, clown, and purple lyretail, among others), freshwater eels (snowflake, glass, and starry night), royal farlowellas, freshwater longmouth pipefish, discus, angelfish, gouramis, bettas (roundtail, halfmoon, crowntail, super delta tail, and twin tail), rummynose tetras, cardinal tetras, emperor and purple emperor tetras, show quality Congo tetras, Amanda tetras, blue axelrodi rasbora, a wide array of rainbow fish (praecox, boesmanii, milleniums, threadfins, and more), knife fish, pencil fish, electric blue Jack Dempseys, true leaf fish, dwarf puffers, we even have a brackish section with archers, knight gobies, glass fish, puffers, and Monos and an African cichlid section featuring strictly wild-caught F0 and first generation F1 Malawian and Tanganyikan cichlids. And again, if we don't have what you're looking for we will do our best to get it for you.

I apologize for this post running so long but I wanted to give everyone an idea of the great selection that is now available locally here in Denver. Our goal is to be the best planted aquarium shop in Colorado. Drop in and check us out and let us answer any questions you might have
