Quincy, MA.

I'm new to MA and just getting back into the hobby so I'm on the lookout for a good fish store. So far I have been to Lovely Pets and Tropic Isle... not really that impressed with either.

Tropic isle is as good as I've found outside of Boston, but have been surprised by the low number of actual lfs's in MA.

I work in southern NH, and there's a great marine store here, but really not many options for freshwater (unless you consider Petsmart to be a viable option).

Oh, and Melrose, MA.

Check out Pionner Valley Aqaurium Society

Anyone near Chicopee should check out PVAS. Great bunch of people, great yearly auctions/monthy meetings w/ spakers and mini auctions, amazing breeders, trade deals with members, etc. Joining a fish club changed the way I look at the hobby. Check them out at pvas.net.

They've been around since the 40's . And yes, I am a member even though I live in NY.

Are there any plant only meets that happen in and around MA? I am interested in meeting fellow hobbyist. I always had this idea in getting together with extra plants that we all have and just swap with no $ involved. I would love to talk to others and learn, share my experiences as well.

By the way I live in Littleton MA.

I'm from Pepperell (I think I actually saw someone else from here in this thread, which blows my mind a little)

I'll have to stop by the fish nook sometime when I'm in Acton

I just moved to Lynn from St. Thomas and I'M FREEZING !

I am also returning to keeping fish after a 45 year hiatus. The main difference from long ago is the water change. We never did that. We thought nice old aged water was the best. We kept water aging in buckets, etc. to top off tanks after too much water had evaporated.

Brookline MA. Do we do meetups? The NEAS meetings are in the middle of a class for me.

I don't know of any gatherings yet, but I'd be game as well. I'm still in the grow-out phase in my tanks, so don't have anything to swap with, but will happily share when I can.
