manzanita driftwood @ lovely pets! wtb pretty rocks!

So i stopped by lovely pets, to look at their rocks =/ (didn't have any luck)

But i did see that they now have manzanita driftwood! they look pretty nice too, butttt slightly pricey. Saw a giant one for about 60 bucks? but its pretty big probably will fill up a 40b, or 55.

soo if you are looking for some and don't want to get it shipped! new option!

Now, anyone got pretty rocks i can buy? dont make me go all the way to aquaful (because i will probably buy things i should not buy right now! need to finish my rack first!)

Yeah I noticed that too. They had some nice pieces. I'll confirm the priceyness. :-) nice that they carry them now tho.

Lovely Pets is the best fish store I have found that I can get to. They have good plants, but just a few kinds at a time. I like them.

I saw that too! They are kind of pricy but they're still one of my favorite stores. Absolutely love working right near them!

Is this place worth going to?

I'm going to be off-island in a few weeks and planned on going to Uncle Ned's Fish Factory and Tropic Isle Aquarium. I'll stop by this place as well, if it's worth it.

NewportJohn, your username is deceptive. Here I thought I had found another Rhode Islander on the forums.

:p

Are you looking for something specific or do you just want to check out some cool places?

Haha. I am from Newport, RI but moved to ACK a few years ago. I have a ton of family in RI still. I used to live in Providence. You're not the only Rhode Islander.

I'm just looking to check out some cool places and, possibly, buy some plants or fish. Doubt my tank will be cycled by then but we'll see.

In that case I'd go to all of them. I've never been to tropic isle but uncle neds and lovely pets are highly recommended. Lovely pets also has a pretty big clearance section with some pretty good stuff.

I feel like we've had this conversation before.. On another forum and maybe years ago.

I could be imagining things though.

Is there actually a trip being planned?

Haha, we could've. APC, maybe?

Yea, a trip is being planned. I need to get off of this island and figured visiting a bunch of nice aquarium stores would make it a lot more fun. My tank *should * be up and running by then. Its going to be hard for me to go to these places and not buy anything.

Any recommendations?

Lovely pets is good, but can be difficult to find by car. It's kinda set back and in a basement of a dance studio. I go to school a few minutes from the store.

I take it you're a striper fisherman?

I won't be too far away, so I'll attempt to find it.

I am a striper fisherman. Its an obsession, much like planted tanks. I'm assuming you're a fisherman as well?

Never been there yet, but maybe this upcoming week.

I may make a trip out there on Tuesday around lunchtime. I was told on Saturday there's a supermarket nearby that has LIVE lobster for $3.50/lb. We'll see if that's true. If they look fresh, I'll buy a pair for dinner.
