The thing with the nets is that if you have a tank that's big enough to have a cross-bar in the middle, the fish somehow know that you can't follow them back and forth. grr.

Some of my angels HATE to be caught. Actually - full grown angels shouldn't be in a net anyway. their spines get caught.

I rather like laying a container down in the tank, and shooing the fish in with the net and scooping the container out. This works better with a low water level... This is a great way to catch puffers, plecos, angelfish and any other spikey fish that might do bad things to your net or cut up your hand. Yes - I've had my hand cut up when trying to catch a fish...
