Hey all!,
New to this site and loving it so far. Its good to know there are people enjoying the hobby around me. I've been a fish tank owner for a good amount of years now, and now I'm going to try my luck at some planted and shrimp tanks too. Was wondering if anyone around the area has any RCS they would like to sell? Would rather support the local hobbyists first I guess. Let me know!

Welcome! It's nice to see another person on here from this area. Planted tanks are nice in many ways, I don't think I would build a tank without some plants. Good luck with your shrimp and plant plans.

I am from DeMotte, about 30 minutes south of Merriville. This corner seems to be a happening place in the state of Indiana. Anyone looking to get rid of some plants? I am just starting a simple planted aquarium, mainly because I use plants in my curriculum I teach in junior high, and I am sick of always having to buy new ones. I figure growing my own will be more economical, plus the students really enjoy seeing this kind of ecosystem.

Last year, I had a bit of a reef tank in my classroom. The students did enjoy that as well. The only issue with that was it was hard to keep the levels normal and I ended up having to get rid of it. I am hoping that a planted tank will be a little easier to keep in a classroom.
