well, I'll respond, even if the previous 40 people won't... lol

what's a "toxic ten" ?? but grats on the eggs! there's a joke in here somewhere about a planted tank being so GREEN, and eggs, and ram/ham,... but I can't quite put it together.

So you had issues with those Rams "gettin it on" so share with the class the changes you made in order to move them to spawn.

If you go to my tank journal a while back I did a partial tear down and added crushed oak leaves and sphagnum moss to the substrate. I had intended to start using RO water to drop the PH but I did not get to that point yet. I did raise the temp to 82. I also started feeding a worm flake, which they are crazy about.

Ahh yes, raising the temp and feeding them better meals is a nice trick to trigger spawning with these guys! Any updates?

No updates, after I took the pics I covered the tanks front & sides with brown paper (shopping bag) to less the chance they would be disturbed, an old Angel Fish breeding trick. The lights are on a timer and I'll just toss some flakes in I'll peak in on them in 5 days.

UPDATE

Took a peak on the 29th. No eggs, No fry, Adult Rams swimming normally.

Did a water change, cleaned the filters. Moved the Bolbitis heudelotii, closer to the spawning site, more so for the plants as it was shading some baby crypts and I wanted in in more flow.

Yesterday morning I find another spawn egg clutch. This time covering the entire rock. It's till there now and being guarded by both Male & Female. For now I plan to just stay away and feed once a day until I see fry swimming.
