South Florida Stores

Finding good local stores for our hobby can be difficult, so I am creating a list of local fish stores, breeders, growers (of aquarium plants) and places you can get hard to find items for our hobby (such as CO2 bottles) for the broward/miami area.

If you would like to recomend a store please post thier name, location and a brief discription along with any comments about them and I will update the list

check this link out http://maps.google.com/maps?f=l&hl=e...&t=h&z=11&om=1

LOCAL FISH STORES

Beverlys Pet Center
SW Corner of Pines Blvd. & University Dr.
8356 Pines Blvd. * Pembroke Pines, FL 33024
(954) 322-1112
They carry an extensive collection of both freshwater and saltwater hardware and fish and are known to stock up on hard to find items such as metal hallide lights. Great show tanks and knowledgable perosnel
They sometimes carry ottos and SAE's

Age Of Aquarium
5810 S University Dr # 108
Davie, FL 33328
(954) 424-3474
They carry a large selection of equipment, but offer little in the way of plants and fish

Big Al's Aquarium Superstore
University & McNab
Tamarac, Fl
954-722-3474
Lots of hardware & Fish. (Largest selection around)

Mark's Ark
4566 Lake Worth Rd
Greenacres, FL 33463
(561) 966-8083
They have a pretty good selection of equipment, and i'd say 20-30 freshwater tanks full of livestock, and a decent plant area.

The Barrier Reef
1921 Nw Boca Raton Blvd
Boca Raton, FL 33432(561) 368-1970
20-30 freshwater tanks of livestock, a lot of equipment, knowledgeable staff--no plants when I visited.

The Fish Net
4353 N Andrews Ave
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309
(954) 563-9401

Yah I love beverly's. They have such a large selection. And the salespeople are very knowledgeable. The only store that is bigger than beverlies is Big Alls, but there you don't get the same level of customer service.

Update, I found out that Beverly's stocks Ottocinclus Catfish and Flying Foxes. I have been looking all over for these but, didn't feel like driving all the way to Big All's in Tamerac.

Big Al's is the place... remember double points on Wednesdays. Just had a 15% sale on plants this past weekend.

I'm in Miami and have good luck with The neighborhood fish farm off bird road and 122ave. They have over 100 outdoor tanks and a good selection of plants.
