Yep, it doesn't get better than AFA. You won't be disappointed. I brought $40 of plants back from sf a month ago on the plane, and they packaged it up nicely and packed it in a nice box for me to put in my luggage. It was awesome!

Well you were right. I wasn't disappointed. I ended up buy $110 worth of plants and supplies. I got 2 Trident java Ferns, 3 needle leaf java ferns, 2 Dwarf hair grass pots, 2 mats of flame moss, and a bunch 3 other plants I forgot the names of. In All was very happy with the shop and the suggestions and help from the store.

Next time also check out Ocean on Cedar and Van Ness. Street looks like a crack alley and store is definitely not impressive, but the owner Justin knows this stuff and his fish and plant selection is too good.

Hehe, I've been there before. Your description is right-on. They had lots of tanks to look at, but I was too afraid to buy anything because I wasn't sure what was for sale and what wasn't.

Another place that might be worth a visit next time is 6th Avenue Aquarium. The one thing about it is that you have to net your own fish :P I wasn't too sure about the quality of the fish there, so I only ended up buying some shrimp. Surprisingly, they had more shrimp than I expected.

Cherries, fire-reds, even CRS. I made sure to net out all the berried females I could find

Is this the place where he checks your water quality before selling fish?
