Java Fern not growing very tall
Is there a trick to getting Java fern to grow taller?
I have 3 or 4 bunches of narrow Java fern in my 55 gallon. It is all growing short and thick.
It's low light, I have a Finnex Stingray on it for I think 9 hours a day.
I am getting good growth, its very thick and bunchy, and I have what look like a ton of plantlets. Over the last month I have already cut off 3 plantlets that had 4 or 5 leaves each and replanted those and still have several more forming as we speak.
I dose a slightly modified EI dosage of liquid ferts as well as 2xExcel daily.
Tank has only been up since July, and I'm not expecting over night kind of growth.
Do I maybe need to thin out the thick bunches and only keep the newest most healthy leaves?
