Hedera Helix - New shoots under water!?

Had a little branch of hedera helix in the tank. Just had the stem sticking down in the water trying to get it to root.

We'll the thing detached and floated around in the tank, and lodged itself in some anubias. I just left it there, as I'm gonna tear down the tank soon. Now after about 1 week, still looks fine. And at closer inspection 2-3 new leaves formed. They are tear drop shaped, not the usual "trident" shape, and a lot brighter in color than emersed grow. Strange..don't know what to think about this, guess ill just see what happens. sorry for potato quality.
