Moving a java fern to a different tank

I had a question about java ferns. I have a nice piece of driftwood in my medium light (108 watt T5HO 8 in above tank), CO2 injected, EI dosed 55g tank that has a fair amount of java fern growing on it. The java fern has done quite well in this setting in fact a little too well as it has grown too tall to be in the foreground. I have another tank low tech tank which is 29g stock lighting (18 watt I think), no CO2, no liquid CO2, only dosing flourish comprehensive, it does have a nice filter and good flow. The low tech tank has some Anubias and Bacopa which do ok in there but obviously nothing like the high tech tank. I would like to move the java fern into the smaller low tech tank, will this work or will the fern not respond well to such a change in conditions and melt? Thanks for your consideration!

It' my experience that java fern is too tough for melting. It may stop growing for a while as it adjusts, or start growing a copious amount of plantlets.

Thanks, I figured java fern was pretty hardy, I definately plan on moving the fern and wood out of the big tank. It will be interesting to see how it adapts to the low tech setting. The other plants in the low tech seem to never change until I stop looking at them for a month, then I am usually pleasantly surprized to see some new growth.
