I really want to have some blyxa japonica is my 40 gallon tank but have read some very mixed experiences. I am getting the Finnex Ray two, and a GLA co2 regulator very soon. Is this enough to get the bushy blyxa that you see in all the google images? What root tabs do you recommend if any, and what additional ferts as well? Thanks

Your lighting sounds sufficient, and you're injecting CO2. What substrate are you using? If it's an inert substrate, shoving some seachem root tabs underneath them would be very rewarding.

I have blyxa in my shrimp tank they love it. No co2 no ferts, only azoo plant grower bed for substrate. And a fugeray. And it's still growing pretty well no melting. Even my dhg is starting to carpet!

I also have blyxa in my 55 that has two side shoot plants growing. T5 with one 7000 k bulb co2 injection, and ferts every Sunday.

must....have.....more....moss n shrimp!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds promising! I am in the process of cleaning 4 bags of flourite black sand. Should I start a new thread about fert dosing? I do not understand how everyone comes up with their fert schedules and how they know exactly how much of each substance they need. Thanks
