I was wanting to grow Anacharis for my turtles. They like to munch on it. So, I put some beautiful long stems into one of their tanks, which is outside on my porch by the pool. Well, I came out there this morning and it had all melted away I guess the water temperature is too high for it (82-84 F.) Sigh... I tried to save some of it and took a few itty bitty stems to put in my 10 gallon inside. They can't stay there permanently because I plan on using Excel in that tank. Has anyone grown Anacharis in just a vase? I can put some substrate in there and keep it by a window I guess... I dunno what else to do with it!
The stuff will grow anywhere. I have a bunch lying in a pyrex pan that I turn every couple days when I change the water. It's near a window and gets a couple hours of sun each day. Stuff's almost doubled in size in the 10 days it's been sitting there. They all have branches now, too.
Your vase sounds like plant heaven compared to my pyrex pan!
