Need some riparium advice

Hi everyone,

I would really like some advice on with these two plants:

They do not seem to be doing very well. First off the Hydroclyte:

Is this still transition to emmerged?... or is it just dying?

And the cyperus seems to be drying or burning or drowning ?

This is how they are set up: There is root tab in there and I'm currently not adding anything else to the water.

I would really like some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Root tab?
Water temp range?
CO2,(Alkalinity,hardness)?
Light setup?

The black tips are indicative of too much nitrate(fertilizer burn) for your light and CO2 setup.

I put a seachem root tab in each planter.

The water is at 27 C.

No CO 2 since its emerged.

Two 24 W fluocompact bulbs about 18 inches above the aquarium.

I've had this occur to Cyperus in conditions of low ambient humidity (as often happens in open-top setups). Do you mist the leaves?

I've got the same plant and the same problem. I'm curious to see what answers come up.

Looks like a number of us have questions on rip plants, myself included.
What happened to our 'riparium guy'? He is nowhere to be found.

I'll venture a guess and observation or two..

I've grown various Cyperus over the years, I have one now that I let totally dry out, all the top leaves died but the crown survived. 2-3 months later it's now just putting out leaves.
So in my experience the Cyperus are pretty indestructible.
The browning leaves may even be from earlier drying out. Just give it regular water and not too much fertilizer and it'll grown fine. You could just cut off the dying leaves and stems.

Hydrocotyle, it grows like a weed, just give it time.

as for other members.. maybe they're on vacation...they'll be back.

I'm pretty sure you mean Hydrophyte as the "riparium guy". From what I could tell via emails when I ordered my planters he seemed pretty busy

Good to know about the cyperus. Guess I could try and mist it now and then. 1 root tab in the planter shouldnt be too much fertilizer right?

We will see for the hydroclyte also I gues

Thanks for the anwers

Indeed, I was hopping he would pitch in, as the majority of us got the plants and the equipment from him.

I've had that happen to both of those plants for me. I didn't do anything and they came back twofold. I think its just them re-acclimating.

The Cyperus I have (2 plants) seem to be a breath away from dead . Any other recommendations on what it takes to keep this plant alive?
