dwarf hair grass

hey thinking of having a complete carpet of hair grass in my 25 litre nano, it has a flora base substrate (black Japanese soil) co2 system and 2x 11w pl lamps... how will it do?? how's best to plant it? I addnliquid ferts too??

i think it will be fine, i have seen people grow it under low light.

plant it in clumps the size of a pencil eraser. in my experience it does really well with co2 (excel diddnt cut it) and some trace nutrients.

thanks, how low can it be cut? And when should i cut it? When its established with runners? Or from the start?

I've tried both approaches and found much greater success in waiting to trim until it becomes established.

same here. i felt like cutting it too early stunted growth.

agreed, let it establish a good root system. be patient. then hack away. once its well established it does appreciate a trim but don't rush it.
