My anubias bloomed!

It was with great excitement that I noted a spathe forming on my anubias nana in my 10g last week. Today it opened. The snails, of course, had to explore it immediately. After awhile, however, they lost interest and now we can just enjoy our little aquatic flower. Probably nothing much to be excited about, but it brings me great joy.

Congrats. Mine have done it numerous times. I'm not so sure what triggers flower stalks, but I remember doing a big water change and a bunch of my anubias started growing stalks. I had three stalks that suddenly appeared and within a few days they bloomed nearly at the same time. Cool experience.. glad yours decided to flower for you. I heard it is a bit rare for anubias to bloom.. and if they do, you're lucky.

All 3 of mine are in different stages of blooming right now. I was thinking it might have something to to with the raise in temperature.

I had an anubias bloom recently. No clue why, none of the others in the tank have produced flower spikes. Snails also seemed to love it.

My tank sometimes gets some sun in the morning on the same side as that anubias, not sure if that might have had anything to do with it...

there might be something to that, I find that my anubias that gets indirect sunlight blooms slightly more often than the others

Mine is white, too, Ryan... it was the coloration of the lights coming through the frogbit that made it look yellow. :P

Thanks for all the feedback! I'm not sure what triggered the bloom, but I'm enjoying it.
