dwarfing the lotus plants

Ok, I read in many places that it's possible to dwarf a lotus plant. I really need to know how. I started with one bulb with tiny plants now I have like 6 plants 3 with leaves reaching the surface. Does anyone know how to dwarf these plants? I've been trying but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Perhaps you mean the surface leaves. In that case, just trim the leaves that rise to the surface, and keep the ones that stay submerged.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

All the leaves seem to be reaching the surface, I don't want to cut them all off though. Wouldn't it really be harmful if I cut off all the floating ones?

Cutting off leaves BEFORE they reach the surface is the only way to keep lotus under control. Once they see the light, it is hard to reverse the floaties.

Cutting them all off might work.

keep them in lower light or in the shade and dont let any floaters to the surface, they will grow darker, smaller colored leaf

Thank you all. I'll try the lower light and cutting the leaves.
