moss...

So, someone texted me at 2 am, now i can't go back to sleep. So i started staring at my cherry tank.

Am i going crazy or these are two different moss?



top is the floating one, bottom is the mossy rock. Bottom is definitely christmass moss, whats the top O.o?...

Looks the same to me other than the color. Maybe the floating one gets more light or something.

Not sure how large it is, but there was a piece of java moss stuck on the frogbit I gave you when i has twking it out of my tank. Thought I got it all off. May have been from there

No, not java moss and definitely not christmas moss. Both look the same species to me. The top looks like peacock moss grown in less lighting.

thats not from your shrimps.

But yea, pretty sure the top is java moss and bottom is christmas moss. I was just super sleepy when i made the post, lol =<

Chrismas moss have larger fronds.

Go to aquamoss.net and look closely.

I bought christmas moss twice in the past only to find out they are peacock moss.

I grow 7 species of moss in my tanks.

I dont mean to hijack this thread but if you've gone to aquamoss.net, you probably seen Singapore moss- Vesicularia dubyana. One of my favorite moss. Similar to peacock moss structure but thicker fronds.

I have them grown very green on a moss wall.
