Anubias nana

Hello! I am new here, and kind of experienced in planted tanks, but I am by no means an expert. I have a question about anubias nana. I know that Java Ferns will grow their roots into rocks, driftwood, anything and hold on. I have a piece of driftwood in my 15 gallon with Java Ferns and Anubias nana tied to it. I am wondering if anubias will grow it's roots into the wood as well? It seems to be trying to at least grow around the wood, so I am hopeful.

It can stick to many things as long as porous or rough. They can be attached to rough rocks, woods or left on the substrate for it to digs in by itself. Sticking aids from sealant, rubber bands, thumbtacks, tied to stone, etc until the plant get holds to whatever it is intended to attach to. You can also do this with other anubias, big or tiny ones. Mine has very long roots because I attach them to a small weigh rock to make it sink and it grows with roots dangling from where ever I want. This keeps them handy as a mobile plant. They seems dont care where I put them, just be sure not to place them in excessive lit areas or they will be covered by algae.

All right! Thank you for replying so quickly! I guess I just have to be patient with the slow-growing anubias nana. =)

I do the same thing, medicineman. I attach java fern or anubias to a small rock and from then on I can move it around very easily.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....
