Frogbit with no roots

I got some amazon frogbit in the mail. Many have next to no roots. Just the leaves. Will they recover?

Yep.. some people even remove the roots prior to shipment, because they will either get damaged or melt once you put them back in the water anyways

I got some in the mail from another member (in near freezing temps) and they popped roots overnight. Massive growth, touching the bottom of a 20L in two days.

Then the convict tore the roots off every single one of them. I gave them a couple days to recover, but the plants all turned brown and crumbled. Pretty disappointed, but it's the fault of the fish, not the plant itself.
